Program Overview
ABGC’s Youth Wrestling program is open to boys and girls in Kindergarten through 8th Grade and runs each winter from November through February. Wrestling is a challenging and rewarding sport that builds strength, discipline, balance, confidence, and mental toughness while emphasizing respect and sportsmanship.
The program is designed for both first-time and experienced wrestlers. Athletes are grouped in competitions by age, weight, and experience level, ensuring fair matchups and a positive learning environment. Annandale wrestlers compete in the Northern Virginia Wrestling Federation (NVWF), providing structured opportunities to test skills and gain match experience throughout the season.
Practices are held in the Annandale High School Wrestling Mat Room, giving athletes access to a dedicated, regulation training space. Instruction focuses on fundamental techniques, conditioning, match strategy, and safety, while allowing more advanced wrestlers to continue developing and refining their skills.
Online registration opens in October and typically remains open through late November, or until roster capacity is reached.
